Dear Members,
I love April the most of all the months and it’s definitely influenced by two things: Spring Break and my birthday. LOL! It’s definitely not the pollen, the inconsistent weather or the rain. As we are ending this month it also gives us a start of the countdown to June. I have already heard some of you sharing the number of days until the last day of school, verifying last week of school activities, and even sharing your summer plans. I am right there with you on some days. Doing our jobs this school year has definitely been and continues to be filled with some real challenges. I do want you to remember that although we have not all had it easy this year, we can still find the good in each day. Whether you hear it or not, all the hard work you put in day after day does not go unnoticed. I continue to share with all that will listen that our plates are full and our cups are empty. Some of us are crumbling under the weight and I just want you to know that there are other FFT members that are willing to help you lift the weight. We know you need to be a safe space for kids, write the recommendations, have the conversations, mentor, coach, and foster connections that will last beyond this year. I saw a quote that reminds us why: “A good teacher is like a candle — it consumes itself to light the way for others.” – Mustafa Kemal Ataturk
