Message from President Cordelia Anthony

Dear Members,

We have made it to the end of the calendar year and it has definitely been an eventful one. If you look back to where you were in January it is possible that so many things have changed, whether big or small. For those of you not on social media, at the end of the year they like to provide you with ‘a look back’ at things that you shared or posted for the entire year. Most people tend to mostly share positive picture perfect things on social media when they are at their best both emotionally and physically so that yearly reflection can sometimes not be authentic. That online review is based on what you want to be the public view of who you are. In reality, the real reflection of your January through December may include highs and lows. You may look at all of the year and see more lows than highs, please know that there is hope and that there usually tends to be joy attached to that. Your worth as an educator extends beyond the mere transmission of knowledge; it resides in your capacity to inspire, motivate, guide, and influence the lives of your students. You play a crucial role in nurturing their critical thinking, creativity, and personal development, ultimately transcending academic instruction to develop well-rounded individuals prepared to face the challenges of the future. Keep holding n to that in the New Year. Happy Holidays and we will see you in 2025!
