As you may have heard, Governor Hochul signed Chapter 201 of 2022, the legislation NYSUT has been advocating for to suspend the APPR process and provide a path to tenure for the 2021-22 school year. The law goes into effect immediately and a school district may halt the APPR process without fear of financial penalty, as well, any educator, teacher or principal, who is subject to tenure, is ensured a process to achieve tenure, should it be offered by their district.
