Upon request by the teacher, a teacher shall be permitted to examine her/his Farmingdale Official Professional File maintained in the principal’s office. Such file shall contain only ratings, observations, evaluations, and written remarks concerning the teacher’s service in the Farmingdale U.F.S.D.
No material pertaining to a teacher’s conduct, service, character or personality shall be placed in the file unless the teacher has had the opportunity to read the material. The teacher shall acknowledge that s/he has read the material with a signature on the actual copy to be filed. It is understood that a teacher signature merely signifies that the material has been read and does not necessarily indicate agreement with its content. The teacher has the right to answer any material filed and that answer shall be attached to the file copy.
