March 6th-12th was. National School Social Week, but did you know it’s National Social Worker Month? We love and want to applaud our FFT social workers. They’ve been always working so hard but in the last few years have been called to action like never before. This year, the National Association of Social Workers has designated “The Time Is Right for Social Work” as the theme for Social Work Month. We have all seen in our schools the dramatic increase in the need for social workers and the integral role they play. Whether it is the effect of worldwide health care crises, poverty, racial inequity, anti-semitism, and the intersections among these issues our school social workers are tasked with addressing them with our students on a daily basis. They carry a heavy load and are asked to be flexible as they are already stretched thin. Please show them your support and thank them for doing a great job for us and for our students.
